Pirelli Star Driver Global Shootout, WRC 2011 here we come!

Hi all, apologies for the absence, hectic to say the least!
Well what a week that was! We travelled to Sweet Lamb in Wales on Tuesday last, for the first of our Pirelli Shootouts. We had prepared well, and with good runs in both the Renault Twingo and Subaru N15, we were confident that we had showcased what we could do. However on the day, it was Elfyn Evans that shone and I wish him all the best in his 2011 BRC campaign.
We kept our heads held high and on Thursday night headed to catch a flight to Salou for the Global Pirelli Star Driver Shootout. Friday was a training day performed by ESP who will look after the PSD training next year. They outlined the different aspects of a professional motorsport career, an interesting day for sure. On Saturday, the driving took place. A 6km gravel stage repeated, and a 2km tarmac stage (on gravel tyres) repeated. No official times were given, but going on the co-drivers stopwatches we were in or around fastest on both. We were second on the road on the gravel stage which didn't help as it was so loose, but we compensated with a big push to make sure the time was still going to be good.
A final nerve racking interview in front of the judging panel, including none other than Michelle Mouton, a rally legend. After the judges had made their decision we were brought to the media room and told who had got through. When they called my name it was just such a flow of emotions I can't describe it. Everything that we had worked so hard for had finally come together.
The prize is a fully funded drive in a Fiesta R2 in the new FIA Junior Academy, incorporating six rounds of the WRC in 2011. A dream prize, and finally we're back on the world stage.
I'm trying to keep my feet on the ground now as we prepare for Rally GB, which is coming up in 3 weeks time. We have acquired an SWRC entry for the rally so a little bit more pressure, but I think we shouldn't be too far away from the pace setters.
Keep posted as I'll be keeping up to date with the preparations for GB!
All the best,
Craig
